Nest thermostats have saved users an estimated $14 billion and 200 billion kWh of energy since 2011.

Since we first introduced the Nest Thermostat in 2011, our community has reached an incredible milestone: saving over 200 billion kilowatt hours of energy. 1 That's enough energy to drive an electric vehicle around earth’s equator 32 million times. Plus we've saved our users an estimated $14 billion dollars. 2

With energy-saving features like Auto Eco, which adapts your home temps based on whether someone is home or not, Nest helps you get the most out of your home’s energy.

On eligible thermostats and residential areas, you can also shift your energy use to cleaner or cheaper times with Nest Renew. You can sign up for Nest Renew while setting up your Nest thermostat or in the Settings of your Google Home app.

_Estimated energy savings are calculated based on the average percentages for heating and cooling savings found in real-world studies of the Nest Learning Thermostat in the U.S. and U.K., and generalized for Nest thermostat usage worldwide, assuming user opt-in for available energy-saving features. To calculate the total Nest savings, we applied the savings percentages to the actual heating and cooling hours of all Nest thermostats in use since 2011._
