Key Points:

• As forms like Claude Cowork, Hermes, and Perplexity Computer continue to emerge, OpenClaw is also evolving. Its appearance marks a paradigm shift in the role of AI agents, where intelligence begins to possess execution capabilities.

• Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is uniquely positioned to drive the era of AI agents, enabling intelligent, personalized, and intuitive experiences that operate seamlessly across the intelligent connected edge (between devices).

• Our platforms are designed to run agent planning on lightweight devices with exceptional power efficiency.

Lately, using OpenClaw has been incredibly convenient. No matter what device I use, I can send messages to OpenClaw anytime, anywhere. OpenClaw sends me a news briefing every morning, plans healthy walking routes, reminds me of appropriate attire for the day's weather, and can track in real-time the shipping progress of a sound system I ordered from Japan. OpenClaw can also record my scattered thoughts, convert them into concise Markdown format, and then email them to relevant people. All of this runs on that $59 Arduino UNO Q development board on my bookshelf.

As early as 2024, Cristiano Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm Incorporated, stated: "AI is the new UI." This vision has arrived. Users no longer need to click back and forth between web pages or frequently switch between various apps; they simply need to give instructions to OpenClaw to get the desired results. The transformation foreseen by Amon is happening right before our eyes, and this shift can already be realized through the various devices we use daily.

The Future of AI Agents as Demonstrated by OpenClaw

OpenClaw clearly demonstrates AI's transition from a passive conversational assistant to an active system capable of understanding intent, taking action, and adapting in real-time. Today, major AI companies are also continuously refining this concept. I can use Claude Cowork on a laptop powered by the Snapdragon® X2 Elite Extreme processor to directly transform ideas into PPTs. Last week during lunch, my boss even wondered for a moment how my PPT skills had suddenly improved so much.

But to be truly practical, AI agents must be available anytime, anywhere, capable of sensing user context, and distributed across the various terminals around the user. This marks a turning point in AI's maturation. We are gradually transitioning from the early exploration phase, where raw performance was the sole metric, to the commercial-grade product phase requiring deep, system-level optimization across various devices and different agents.

The AI of the future is not just faster AI; it is personalized, proactively responsive, and always serving the user. How does this vision translate into technical capabilities? From the smallest earbuds to smartphones to massive data centers, every device needs to integrate into a "user-centric ecosystem" with exceptional power efficiency, deep contextual awareness, and ultra-low latency. For Qualcomm, this isn't a new challenge, because enabling low-power, high-performance connectivity and computing across terminal devices is precisely our expertise.

Experience the Future of AI Today on Devices Powered by Qualcomm and Snapdragon Platforms

Like the teams behind OpenClaw, Claude Cowork, and Perplexity Computer, we are also committed to supporting personalized, execution-oriented AI that can collaborate seamlessly across devices. Currently, only our technology can scale from milliwatts to kilowatts, empowering everything from Bose earbuds to the massive rack servers being deployed by HUMAIN. This breadth of coverage will help us realize the multi-terminal AI collaborative experience in the future.

Windows laptops powered by Snapdragon® X Elite and Snapdragon® X2 Elite processors can achieve seamless collaborative scheduling of agents. As we have demonstrated, Claude Cowork can now run on the Snapdragon platform, enabling the planning and execution of complex, multi-step tasks. Our Arduino UNO Q development board makes multi-terminal AI planning highly cost-effective (and allows for file isolation from the main computer as needed).

OpenClaw: Giving AI Hands and Eyes

Think of OpenClaw as the 24/7 eyes and hands for an AI assistant. Most AI agents go dormant the moment a user closes the app. But OpenClaw is different; it can continuously perform tasks across applications and intelligently sequence operations across all terminals and accounts the user has granted access to, rather than just providing answers in a chatbox.

Give an instruction to a smartwatch, and OpenClaw can execute the task on the user's AI PC or Arduino development board and return the result. Agents can handle simple, ad-hoc tasks like "help me reply to this email," as well as complex multi-step workflows, such as monitoring social media sentiment, compiling a report, sending it to the user, and recommending trending topics worth further exploration.

Furthermore, people have begun exploring how to bring agent-like execution capabilities into the physical world, creating amazing products like smart home appliances—such as dimmable lights and air purifiers that can be automatically operated via simple voice commands—and even sorting automotive parts. The multi-terminal AI experience is the next stage in agent evolution.

Planning: The Underlying Principle of Distributed Intelligence

How do agents stay online, respond quickly, and successfully execute tasks? Just as a conductor coordinates musicians, an agent planner coordinates the agent's behavior: maintaining constant awareness, monitoring signals to start or stop tasks, responding rapidly, and completing tasks based on the resources it can call upon.

The planning layer is the cornerstone of truly useful AI agents. Without it, agents cannot call tools, manage sub-agents, coordinate tasks, or integrate outputs; they can only answer questions simply. All of this must happen on one or more terminals, requiring reliable hardware to support and bear this type of workload.

Although it's possible to run OpenClaw and its invoked models entirely locally across terminals, most current deployments run the planning layer on the terminal, while OpenClaw delegates heavy thinking to cloud models. As we have always said, "AI workloads should run in the most efficient and appropriate place, correctly leveraging the unique advantages of the cloud as well as all the various terminals a user has."

This is precisely what Qualcomm Technologies' product design aims to achieve from the outset. Our processors are architected from the ground up for power efficiency. With leadership in AI, connectivity, and computing, we provide the ideal underlying technology for deploying AI agents. This is why billions of AI-enabled terminals today run on hardware from Qualcomm Technologies.

This field is incredibly exciting, and we look forward to showcasing this future vision at upcoming events. Stay tuned.
